NFL: Panthers V Redskins Preview, Insights & Tips
October 10, 2018
The Carolina Panthers come into this game with a 3-1 record and are looking for their first road victory of the season to build on their lead in the NFC South.
- Sunday 14th of October 1:00pm (FedExField)
There is no question that they escaped in their last game against the New York Giants. They dropped their guard and let the Giants come back in the game, and it took a 62-yard field goal as time expired for the Panthers to win 33-31.
Cam Newton has had no trouble finding his best form, throwing for 883 yards, seven touchdowns and three interceptions.
It seems that the Panthers have the attacking capabilities to win this match but will have to improve their defence if they are to defeat the Redskins here.
The Washington Redskins who are also struggling on the defensive side of the ball come into this game with a 2-2 record will have to put a frustrating loss to the New Orleans Saints.
The defence gave up 43 points to a relentless Saints outfit and if that doesn’t change this week you’d have to think Cam Newton will run wild this week.
Alex Smith threw for 275 yards, zero touchdowns and one interception which aren’t the worst stats around but it was the large number of incompletions that will have Saints fans worried.
Some betting insights are:
- Both teams have averaged more than 21 points scored against them this season.
- The Panthers’ average winning margin this season is 6.7
- Both teams average over 42 total match points.
- Underdog is 10-2 at this stadium in their last 12 meetings.
- Road team is 9-3 at this stadium in their last 12 meetings.
Our tip: Carolina Panthers.
