November 29, 2024

According to Rogers Sportsnet on Wednesday, the Brooklyn Nets have announced that Cam Thomas of Yokosuka, Japan is out three to four weeks with a hamstring injury. Thomas is the second player we have featured this week to be out long term with a hamstring ailment. Yesterday we featured Zion Williamson of the New Orleans Pelicans.
Thomas injured his hamstring on Monday in a 128-120 Nets win over the Golden State Warriors. The Nets had an impressive comeback in the contest as they were once down 86-68 with seven minutes and 12 seconds left in the third quarter before outscoring the Warriors 60-34 the rest of the way.
After 17 games this season, Thomas is averaging 24.7 points per game, 3.4 assists per game, and 3.2 rebounds per game. He has a field goal percentage of .461, three point percentage of .389, and a free throw percentage of .866. Thomas has career highs in points per game, assists per game, field goal percentage and three point percentage. His 3.2 rebounds per game has tied a career high from last season. Thomas’s 24.7 points per game also leads the Nets organization.
Three seasons ago, Thomas made NBA headlines for contributing to the biggest Nets comeback in franchise history. On February 16, 2022, the Nets were once trailing the New York Knicks 54-26 before going on a 85-52 run to win 111-106. Thomas led the Nets in the game with 21 points.
The Nets are winners of three straight games. In addition to beating the Warriors on Monday, Brooklyn beat the Sacramento Kings 108-103 on Sunday, and the Phoenix Suns 127-117 on Wednesday. Brooklyn is at nine wins and 10 losses and are tied with the Indiana Pacers for the seventh best record in the Eastern Conference.
