NBA Preview: January 6
January 7, 2023
The NBA regular season continues this weekend with some very intriguing matchups. Here are three to keep an eye on tonight.
Portland Trail Blazers @ Indiana Pacers–7 PM ET
In this matchup the Indiana Pacers (21-18) host the Portland Trail Blazers (19-18). Indiana is tied for sixth place in the East with the New York Knicks, and Portland is seventh in the West.
My Pick:
The Pacers are at -1.5 and the total line is at 237. Take the over for the line score as the Pacers have been involved in games with more than 237 points in four of their last five games. Take the Pacers too as they are better at home (13-7) than the Trail Blazers are on the road (10-12). Join Our Championships Competition Members Can View Hub Here
Brooklyn Nets @ New Orleans Pelicans–7:30 PM ET
The Nets (25-13) are tied for second in the East with the Milwaukee Bucks. The Pelicans (24-14) are third in the West, one game back of the Denver Nuggets and Memphis Grizzlies.
My Pick:
Take the Nets (-4.5) as Pelicans star Zion Williamson is injured with a hamstring strain. Brooklyn is red hot as they have won 12 of their last 13. Take the over at 230.5, because the Pelicans will miss Williamson’s defending.

Cleveland Cavaliers @ Denver Nuggets–9 PM ET
The Nuggets lead the West at 25-13, while the Cavaliers are fourth in the East at 25-14. Both Nikola Jokic and Donovan Mitchell have been great over the last couple of weeks.
My Pick:
Even though the Nuggets are on the second game of a back-to-back, they dominated the Los Angeles Clippers 122-91 last night. Denver looked exceptional offensively and defensively. Take Denver at -6 and the over at -220.5.
