NBA Preview: February 27 Joel Embiid (Google Images)

As we are about to finish the second month of the calendar year, it is time we take a look at three games on February 27. Here are three teams we like.

Miami Heat @ Philadelphia 76ers–7 PM ET

In what would be considered the best game of the night, the Philadelphia 76ers are third in the East at 39 wins and 20 losses, and the Miami Heat are seventh in the East at 32 wins and 29 losses.

My Take:

The 76ers are coming off an emotional 110-107 loss to the Boston Celtics on Saturday. Joel Embiid made a Hail Mary three-point shot at the end of the game, but the replay clearly showed he did not get the shot off in time before the buzzer went off. Philadelphia will be looking for a bounce back game, so expect them to play with significant emotion and intensity. I like the 76ers here by -5.5, and the game to be over 217 points. Miami has been over 217 points in three of their last four games.

Boston Celtics @ New York Knicks– 7 PM ET

In this intriguing Atlantic Division battle, the New York Knicks (35-27) host the Boston Celtics (44-17).

My Take:

I know the New York Knicks are winners of five straight, and are playing solid basketball as of late, but have not had to play any squad that has the caliber of a team like the Celtics. One interesting statistic is that the Knicks are only average at home this season at 17-15, while the Celtics are an impressive 20-10 on the road. Take the Celtics at -2.5, and the over at 223.5. Boston has been involved in games with more than 224 points in five of their last six games.

Orlando Magic @ New Orleans Pelicans–8 PM ET

The Pelicans are 10th in the West at 30 wins and 31 losses, and the Magic are 13th in the East at 25 wins and 36 losses.

My Take:

We all know that the Pelicans are much better with the injury-prone Zion Williamson in their lineup. This time their star power forward is out with a hamstring strain. That said, you would think the Pelicans have what it takes to beat Orlando without their superstar. Take New Orleans at -4.5. I like the under here at 228.5. The Pelicans have been under 229 points in four of their last five games.
