Top five rookies from Week 18 of the 2022 NFL season

The final week of the 2022 National Football League regular season is now in the books. (Even though it did finish on the second Sunday of 2023). Here are the top five offensive players on winning teams.
5) Tyler Allgeier–Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons rookie running back from Fontana, California had 24 carries for 135 yards as the Atlanta Falcons beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 30-17. With the win, the Falcons improved to a record of seven wins and 10 losses to finish the regular season.
4) Kenny Pickett–Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers rookie quarterback from Oakhurst, New Jersey completed 13 of 29 passes for 195 yards and one touchdown along with one rushing yard as the Steelers defeated the Cleveland Browns 28-14. The win was not enough to get Pittsburgh into the playoffs as the Miami Dolphins beat the New York Jets 11-6.
3) Desmond Ridder–Atlanta Falcons
The native of Louisville, Kentucky completed 19 of 30 passes for 224 yards and two touchdowns as the Falcons beat playoff bound Tampa Bay. This was Ridder’s fourth career NFL game.

2) Sam Howell–Washington Commanders
The native of Waynesville, North Carolina played his first NFL game on Sunday and beat the playoff bound Dallas Cowboys 26-6. Howell completed 11 of 19 passes for 169 yards and one touchdown, and had five rushes for 35 yards and another major score.
1) Brock Purdy–San Francisco 49ers
The great rookie season for Brock Purdy continued one Sunday. He completed 15 of 20 passes for 178 yards and three touchdowns, along with four rushes for seven yards as the San Francisco 49ers beat the Arizona Cardinals 38-13. The 49ers enter the NFL postseason as the number two seed in the National Football Conference, only behind the Philadelphia Eagles.
