March 19, 2026
The Memphis Grizzlies will not have two key players on their roster for the rest of the 2025-26 National Basketball Association regular season according to HoopsHype on Wednesday. They are power forward Santi Aldama of Las Palmas, Spain and point guard Scotty Pippen Jr. of Portland, Oregon.
Aldama is out for the season with a knee injury. Pippen Jr. is out for the season after having surgery on his big toe.
So far this season, Aldama is averaging 14 points per game, 6.7 rebounds per game, and 2.9 assists per game. He has a field goal percentage of .479, three point percentage of .350 and free throw percentage of .667.
Pippen Jr. is the son of former Chicago Bulls Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen. It is interesting because Scotty Pippen Jr. is spelled with a y, when his father’s first name is spelled with an ie. So far this season, Pippen Jr. is averaging 11.4 points per game, 4.7 assists per game, 2.2 rebounds per game and 1.9 steals per game. He has a field goal percentage of .448, three point percentage of .313 and a free throw percentage of .783.
The Grizzlies have been decimated with injuries all season long. Center Zach Edey is out for the season with an ankle injury. and star point guard Ja Morant has not played since January 21 with an elbow injury.
The chances of the Grizzlies getting into the play-in tournament are minimal. They are currently in 11th place in the Western Conference with a record of 23 wins and 44 losses. They are nine games back of the 10th place Portland Trail Blazers.
