The Phoenix Suns are two wins away from their first very championship in franchise history. On Thursday, Phoenix received a complete team effort from all of their starters in a 118-108 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks. With the win, the Suns now have a two games to none series lead in the best-out-of-seven NBA Finals.

Shooting guard Devin Booker of Grand Rapids, Michigan led the Suns offensive attack with 31 points. However, an honourable mention needs to go out as well to small forward Mikal Bridges of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Bridges had a career playoff-high 27 points. In fact, it was the second most points that Bridges has had in a single game in his entire NBA career. During the 2020-21 regular season, he had a career-high 34 points in a 125-117 win over the Indiana Pacers on January 9.

The three other Suns starters had notable games. Veteran point guard Chris Paul of Winston-Salem, North Carolina scored 23 points. Meanwhile, power forward Jae Crowder of Villa Rica, Georgia, and center Deandre Ayton of Nassau, the Bahamas, each had a double-double. Ayton had 10 points and 11 rebounds, while Crowder had 11 points and 10 rebounds.

According to ESPN, Booker is now third all-time for most points in a player’s first postseason (490). The only players with more points than Booker in their first playoff postseason are Rick Barry of Elizabeth, New Jersey, who had 521 points with the Philadelphia Warriors in 1967, and Juilus Erving of East Meadow, New York, who had 518 points with the Philadelphia 76ers in 1977.  Game three of the NBA Finals now shifts to Milwaukee on Sunday.
