Mina Harigae and Georgia Hall lead after second round of 2021 Women’s British Open

The first two rounds have been determined at the 2021 Women’s British Open from Carnoustie, Scotland. There is currently a two-way tie for the lead as American Mina Harigae and England’s Georgia Hall are each at -7.
Harigae, who is a native of Monterey, California, and Japanese-American, posted a score of five-under-par 67 in round two, after a two-under-par 70 in round one. On Friday, Harigae had seven birdies and two bogeys, as she birdied the first, third, sixth, 12th, 14th, 16th, and 18th holes.
Hall meanwhile had a score of three-under-par 69 on Friday, after a first round score of four-under-par 68. In the second round, the Bournemouth native had six birdies, one bogey, and one double bogey. The double bogey came on the 15th hole as Hall was -9 at the time.
Hall is trying to win her second Women’s British Open. Her first title came in 2018, when she beat Pornanog Phatlum of Thailand by two strokes after posting a four-round score of -17 at Royal Lytham & St. Annes in Lancashire.

Meanwhile, there are 15 other golfers in contention and within three strokes of the lead. Sei Young Kim of South Korea and Lizette Salas of the United States are each one stroke back at -6. There are seven golfers at -5. There you can find Nanna Koertsz Madsen of Denmark, Yealimi Noh and Lexi Thompson of the United States, Leona Maguire of Ireland, Yuka Saso of the Philippines, and two Thai players in Moriya Jutanugarn, and Wichanee Meechai.
At -4, and three strokes back are Canadian Brooke Henderson, Australia’s Su Oh and Minjee Lee, American Nelly Korda, Japan’s Hinako Shibuno, and Sweden’s Madelene Sagstrom. Lee won the last major in women’s golf as she won the Evian Masters in France last month.Â
