John Wall out for the rest of the season with a hamstring injury
April 29, 2021
Houston Rockets star point guard John Wall of Raleigh, North Carolina is out for the rest of the 2020-21 National Basketball Association season with a hamstring injury according to Rogers Sportsnet. Wall played 40 games in his first season with the Houston Rockets and averaged 20.6 points per game.
Wall made NBA headlines prior to start of the season when he was traded from the Washington Wizards to the Rockets for star point guard Russell Westbrook. In addition to his 20.6 points per game with Houston, Wall averaged 6.9 assists per game, 3.2 rebounds per game, 1.1 steals per game, a .404 field goal percentage, a .317 three-point percentage, and a .749 free-throw percentage.
However even though Wall had a solid season offensively for the Rockets, it has not been a good season for Houston overall. The team is dead last in the NBA with a record of 15 wins and 47 losses. The season included a 20-game losing streak. The Rockets have only won once in their last 10 games. That came on April 18, in a 114-110 win over the Orlando Magic. It has been equally a bad season for the Magic, as they have the worst record in the Eastern Conference at 18 wins and 43 losses.

The Rockets only have 10 more games left this season, and Houston fans now have their sights set on the 2021 NBA Draft on July 29. Their main focus will be to find a player that can play immediately with Wall, who is signed through the 2022-23 NBA season. Among the possibilities at this time are Cade Cunningham of Oklahoma State, Evan Mobley from USC, and Jalen Suggs of Gonzaga.
