EPL Week 5 Preview – Our Insights, Stats & Betting Insights

The EPL is back this week so it’s time we looked at each match and give you our selections and all of the need to know stats and betting insights.

Tottenham V Liverpool – Saturday 15th of September (Wembley Stadium)

Liverpool has started the season in fine form, winning all four games, scoring nine goals and conceding only once.

Tottenham have also begun the season well, winning three from four, scoring nine goals and conceding four times.

Tottenham have done well at home in the past with 12 of their 14 wins against Liverpool coming from a home ground advantage but with their new stadium unavailable due to construction delays they’ll be looking to keep their 100% win record at Wembley Stadium.

Some insights for the game are:

  • Clashes at Wembley Stadium average a total of 4.0 goals.
  • Sadio Mané has scored more goals than any player on both teams.
  • Tottenham have averaged over three total match goals.

TIP: Liverpool Win     Multi: Liverpool Win + Over 2.5 Goals

Newcastle V Arsenal – Saturday 15th of September (St. James’ Park)

Newcastle is yet to record a victory this season and with Arsenal standing in their way here it looks like they will have to be at their absolute best to turn their form around.

Arsenal has had their own struggles this season and even though they have won their last two outings they seem to be struggling in defence as they have conceded eight times in their four matches.

Some insights for the game are:

  • Arsenal has won 10 of their last 11 EPL matches against Newcastle United.
  • The ‘Over 2.5 Goals’ market has hit in 14 of Arsenal’s last 15 EPL matches as a favourite.
  • In five of the last six EPL matches between Arsenal and Newcastle United at St. James’ Park, the first half has resulted in a draw.

TIP: Arsenal Win     Multi: Arsenal Win + Both Teams To Score

Huddersfield V Crystal Palace – Saturday 15th of September (John Smith’s Stadium)

Sitting in the bottom half of the table, both teams will be looking for a valuable three points here.

Crystal Palace may be higher on the ladder but they have lost their last three matches whereas, Huddersfield are coming off a solid draw with Everton.

Some insights for the game are:

  • Each of Crystal Palace’s last four EPL matches as an away favourite has resulted in a draw.
  • Four of Huddersfield’s last seven EPL matches as an underdog has resulted in a draw.
  • Wilfred Zaha has scored seven goals in his last eight EPL appearances in day matches.

TIP: Draw     Multi:  Draw + Both Teams To Score

Bournemouth V Leicester – Saturday 15th of September (Vitality Stadium)

Both teams have started the season well with two wins a which will make this an intriguing fixture.

Bournemouth has the upper hand over Leicester in the head to head stats with their last loss to the away team coming way back in 2014 when both teams were still in the Championship.

Some insights for the game are:

  • Each of the last five EPL day matches between Bournemouth and Leicester has resulted in a draw.
  • Bournemouth has led 1-0 at half-time in three of their last four EPL matches against Leicester.
  • Bournemouth is undefeated in their last nine EPL matches as a home favourite.

TIP: Draw     Multi: Draw + Bournemouth To Score First

Chelsea V Cardiff – Saturday 15th of September (Stamford Bridge)

Chelsea has started the season in perfect fashion, winning all four games and with Cardiff yet to record a win it looks like they should have no trouble winning this match.

Some insights for the game are:

  • Chelsea has won five of their last six EPL day matches as a favourite.
  • The ‘Over 2.5 Goals’ market has hit in four of Chelsea’s last five EPL matches.
  • Pedro has been the first goal-scorer in each of Chelsea’s last two EPL home matches.

TIP: Chelsea -2.0      Multi: Chelsea -2.0 + Pedro Anytime Goal-scorer

Manchester City V Fulham – Saturday 15th of September (Etihad Stadium)

Manchester City has started their season in good form but we get the feeling they are yet to hit peak form.

City are coming off a hard-fought 2-1 victory of Newcastle and surprisingly it is the third consecutive week where they have failed to keep a clean sheet.

Fulham have had no problems scoring goals this season but it is their defence which is causing a problem as they sit third on the table for most goals conceded this season.

Some insights for the game are:

  • Manchester City has won 18 of their last 20 EPL home matches.
  • Manchester City holds a 7-2-0 W/D/L record in their last nine EPL matches against Fulham.
  • Raheem Sterling has been the first goal-scorer in two of his last three EPL appearances.
  • Aleksandar Mitrovic has scored 16 goals in his last 21 league appearances for Fulham.

TIP: Manchester -2.0     Multi: Manchester -2.0 + Raheem Sterling First Goal-scorer

Watford V Manchester United – Saturday 15th of September (Vicarage Road)

Watford has been the surprise team of the 18/19 season thus far. With an undefeated record and with nine goals in the goals for column they are sure to give Manchester United a shake her.

United haven’t found their best form yet this season and their defence seems to be a big part of the problem, conceding seven goals in four games.

Some insights for the game are:

  • The home team has won six of Watford’s last seven EPL matches.
  • Manchester United has lost three of their last four EPL matches as an away favourite following a win.
  • Romelu Lukaku has scored three goals in Manchester United’s last two EPL away matches.

TIP: Watford +1.0     Multi: Watford +1.0 + Romelu Lukaku Anytime Goal-scorer

Wolves V Burnley – Sunday 16th of September (Molineux Stadium)

With both teams sitting in the bottom half of the table it will be a valuable 3 points if either team can get the victory here.

Burnley is yet to record a win this season and with Wolverhampton coming off a win over West Ham it seems a tough ask to beat the Wolves at home.

  • The Wolves have not won a match at home in 15 appearances (D4 L10)
  • The Wolves have won both of their previous meetings with Burnley
  • Clashes at Molineaux Stadium average a total of 3 goals.

TIP: Wolves Win     Multi: Wolves Win + Ruben Neves First Goal-scorer

Everton V West Ham – Sunday 16th of September (Goodison Park)

Even though these two teams are wide apart on the table these two teams usually bring out the best in each other.

Everton has three draws and only one victory this season so it seems they are struggling to get the upper hand when the game is there for the taking.

West Ham is yet to record a victory this season and conceding 10 goals in four games is a damning stat they’ll be looking to change here.

Some insights for the game are:

  • Everton has won more EPL matches (24) and scored more goals (80) against West Ham than they have against any other team.
  • Everton have won only once in their last 12 EPL matches on a Sunday
  • Theo Walcott has scored six EPL goals against West Ham, more than against any other team.

TIP: Everton Win     Multi: Everton Win + The Walcott Anytime Goal-scorer

Southampton V Brighton – Monday 17th of September (St. Mary’s)

Brighton may be 14th on the table but they’ve had a promising start to the season with a defeat over Manchester United and a hard-fought draw against Fulham just some of the key results.

Southampton is coming off a confidence-building victory over Crystal Palace and being back at home has them favourite for this one.

Some insights for this game are:

  • Southampton have not won in their last 10 EPL matches played on a Monday.
  • Southampton have won four and lost none of their last six EPL home matches against fellow south coast opposition.
  • Charlie Austin has scored seven goals against Brighton in all competitions, more than against any other sides.

TIP: Brighton Win     Multi: Brighton Win + Both Teams To Score
