Jets sign strong safety Adrian Amos

According to Jordan Sigler of Wisconsin Sports Heroics on Monday, the New York Jets have signed strong safety Adrian Amos of Baltimore, Maryland to a one-year deal worth a guaranteed total of $1.25 million. However, there are numerous clauses in the contract, where Amos could make up to $4.1 million more.
Amos (wearing number 31) is the latest player the Jets have acquired from the Packers. The list includes quarterback Aaron Rodgers of Chico, California, and wide receivers Randall Cobb of Maryville, Tennessee and Allen Lazard of Des Moines, Iowa.
The Jets were in need of a safety because safety Chuck Clark of Suffolk, Virginia tore his anterior cruciate ligament earlier this month during practice. Clark had not played a game with the Jets before his injury. He was traded from the Baltimore Ravens to the Jets for a seventh round draft pick in the 2024 National Football League Draft on March 9.
Amos comes to the Jets with eight years of NFL experience. He was with the Chicago Bears from 2015 to 2018, and the Packers from 2019 to 2022. This past season at the safety position for Green Bay, Amos had one interception for 26 yards, five pass deflections, one forced fumble, one sack, 102 combined tackles (73 solo tackles and 29 assisted tackles), seven tackles for a loss and two quarterback hits.
Amos’s sack, fumble recovery and interception all came in Packers’s wins. The sack was in a 31-28 Packers win over the Dallas Cowboys on November 13. The fumble recovery was in a 24-12 Packers win over the Los Angeles Rams on December 19. The interception was in a 41-17 Packers win over the Minnesota Vikings on January 1.
In Amos’s career he has played in 126 NFL games. He has 636 combined tackles (516 solo tackles and 120 assisted tackles), 28 tackles for a loss, nine quarterback hits, 10 interceptions for 122 yards, one pick six, 48 pass deflections. three forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries for 39 yards and six sacks. The interception for a touchdown was for 90 yards and came in a 27-24 Bears win over the Ravens on October 15, 2017.
Clark had played the last six seasons with the Ravens. In 2022, he had 101 combined tackles (61 solo tackles and 40 assisted tackles), four pass deflections, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery for -5 yards. The forced fumble came in a 24-9 Ravens win over the Jets ironically on September 11.
In 96 games with the Ravens, Clark has 384 combined tackles (240 solo tackles and 144 assisted tackles), eight tackles for a loss, eight quarterback hits, five interceptions for 34 yards and one touchdown, 32 pass deflections, four forced fumbles for 61 yards and one touchdown. and 3.5 sacks. The fumble recovery for a touchdown was for 65 yards and came in a 24-10 Ravens win over the Indianapolis Colts on November 8, 2020.
