Jacksonville Jaguars: Predicted Finish, Key Signings and Fantasy Stars
August 11, 2022

In the 15th of a 32-part series, we will feature all National Football League teams with a prediction of where each team will finish within their division, key off-season acquisitions and their top fantasy stars. Today we will look at the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Key Off Season Acquisitions
The Jaguars were obviously extremely busy in the offseason and tried to make a significant number of changes to improve on their record of three wins and 14 losses in 2021, which was the worst record in the entire NFL. The signings included wide receiver Zay Jones from the Las Vegas Raiders (three years, $24 million), wide receiver Christian Kirk from the Arizona Cardinals (four years, $72 million), offensive guard Brandon Scherff from the Washington Football Team (three years,$49.5 million), linebacker Foyesade Olokun from the Atlanta Falcons (three years, $45 million), defensive tackle Folorunso Fatukasi from the New York Jets (three years, $30 million), cornerback Darious Williams from the Los Angeles Rams (three years, $30 million), and tight end Evan Engram from the New York Giants (one year, $9 million).
In analyzing the new Jaguars, there is no doubt Jacksonville was trying to improve their receiving corps for quarterback Trevor Lawrence, the first overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. This past year Jones had 47 catches for 546 yards and one touchdown with the Raiders, Kirk had 77 catches for 982 yards and five touchdowns with the Cardinals, and Engram had 46 catches for 408 yards and three touchdowns with the Giants.
In addition to the free agents, the Jaguars had two first round picks that are projected to be in the starting role. They are the first overall pick in 2022, defensive end Travon Walker from Georgia, and the 27th pick in 2022, linebacker Devin Lloyd from Utah.

Fantasy Stars
There are no Jaguars ranked in the top 10 in any fantasy position.
Prediction
The Titans and Colts are much better than the Jaguars and Texans in the AFC South. With all of the changes Jacksonville made, the only place they can go is up. Due to the issues in Houston at the moment, the Jaguars should move into third place in the division.
