Horses You Must Follow From Randwick Last Saturday 21/12

Our form analyst Dean Watling has assessed the times and replays from Randwick last Saturday to give you a list of horses to follow their next start.

Seles
  • Race: 3
  • Distance: 1400m
  • Grade: BM 72

Was an underestimated effort by this 4yo I Am Invincible mare, she was first up off a 15-week break over the 1400m assignment where her rivals were 2-3 runs ahead. McDonald stalked the heavily backed favorite Edison and was very patient before pulling out at the 300m.

Seles let down beautifully, appreciating the big open Randwick straight. Recorded the fastest L800-200m of the race (L200 – 12.06).

When To Bet

This was a very good effort first-up over the 1400m, she will improve greatly from this and is a big watch next start in the yard. Will likely stay at the 1400m distance and a return to either Randwick or Rosehill is key.

Bound To Win
  • Race: 4
  • Distance: 1150m
  • Grade: Mdn

Have waited a long time for the return of this exciting Sebring filly, has been trialing up a storm for the entire 2019, forgive the first-up run where nothing went right, back for her second prep and was given an easy kill in a provincial maiden at Newcastle.

Sat 3 wide and had no favors and still had the audacity to win by 3L eased down, would have been 7L ridden out. Do note she was accepted in a mid-week race of much higher class where I believe she was a major winning hope.

When To Bet

This horse has serious ability and anywhere she pops up she is a major player, this is a group horse in the making. Keep your eyes firmly on her.

Pinup Miss
  • Race: 9
  • Distance: 1600m
  • Grade: BM 78

Run of the day for mine at Randwick. The 4yo Ramsey trained mare settled in a horrible spot 2nd last the rail where Dolan had it all to do. The speed was moderate going at +0.39 on the average.

Dolan peeled her off the rail and arrowed to the outside coming about 5L wide off the fence. She then picked her self up and sprinted hard, to the eye she was doing it much better then all her rivals and the sectionals backed it up. Fastest L400 – 22.21 of the race and fastest the L200 – 11.26 of the race/meeting.

Really loved her turn of foot at the 200m mark, eye and sectionals both backed this up which is always a good recipe. She relished the rise to 1600m and the big open straight.

When To Bet

Will stay at 1600m now, a return to Randwick is likely. I would love to see a touch more speed and barrier 3-7 where she will blow the field away. Keen to follow.
