This week will be the starting week of the “Horse To Follow & Horse To Sack” Article. Basically, the previous Saturday’s racing action in Victoria will be reviewed and there will be both either a single or multiple horses to follow and sack. Enjoy!
Horse To Follow:
Beltoro
- Race 2
- Distance: 1410m
- Class: 3YO BM70
The 3yo son of Toronado has now put together back to back wins and his latest win at Flemington on Saturday was the win of a very good horse in the making. He has started double figures in both outings however, has had near identical runs both times savaging the line to finish over the top of them. He easily recorded the fastest L600,400,200m sectionals of his race and his 11.44 final 200m was up there with some of the best of the day.
When To Bet
He looks as though he will easily get a mile in time, possibly even 2000m. Could be a sneaky hope for a good 3yo mile race next year such as the Australian Guineas. Watch this space.

Beltoro Winning on Saturday
Horse To Sack:
Macroura
- Race 9
- Distance : 1100m
- Class : BM78
Admittedly, thought she was a handy customer last preparation however, after going down as favourite in all of her 3 runs this preparation it’s hard to keep making excuses for this 3yo Maher & Eustace trained filly.
She never looked a winning hope in running on Saturday as she tackled the Flemington straight for the first time. She was off the bridal and getting scrubbed along a long way from home and admittedly stuck on well for 3rd.
If she goes around again this preparation and is once again short in the market she is one that the punters should be taking on and playing around as her preparation hasn’t gone to plan at all. Expecting her to be tipped out.
