Saturday Metropolitan racing in Victoria heads to Caulfield for 10 races with the first to commence at 12:15pm local time. The meeting is headlined by the group one Caulfield Cup for the best mile and a half horses in the world. This year’s field is a cracker with international flavour from Japan and UK.
The track is currently rated as a good 4. Victorian’s are set for a moderate day with tops of 21 degrees! There’s no rain forecasted which will see this track remain in the good range.
The rail is out 3m for this meeting. Traditionally with the rail out 3m, Caulfield favours horses who are drawn low and can settle on speed. Look for horses who will get the first crack straightening for home rather than the flashing light swoopers.
