Four MLB players to switch teams in first week of February

We are nearing spring training as the 2026 Major League Baseball season approaches. Earlier this week, Brendan Donovan was traded from the St. Louis Cardinals to the Seattle Mariners and the Detroit Tigers signed Framber Valdez. Here are four more players who switched teams.
Carlos Santana
The first baseman from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic signed a one-year deal worth $2 million with the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday. Santana is joining his ninth MLB team after 11 seasons with Cleveland, two seasons with the Kansas City Royals and one year with Philadelphia, Minnesota, Pittsburgh, Seattle, Milwaukee and the Chicago Cubs. This past season with the Guardians and Cubs, Santana batted .219 with 11 home runs and 54 runs batted in.
Isiah Kiner-Falefa
The left side infielder from Honolulu, Hawaii signed a one-year contract worth $6 million  with the Boston Red Sox on Wednesday. Kiner-Falefa is joining his fourth MLB team after being with the Texas Rangers, Toronto Blue Jays and Pittsburgh Pirates. This past season in Toronto and Pittsburgh, Kiner-Falefa batted .262 with two home runs and 40 runs batted in.
Miguel Andujar
The outfielder and third baseman from San Cristobal, Dominican Republic signed a one-year contract worth $4 million with the San Diego Padres on Wednesday. Andujar has previously been with the New York Yankees, Pittsburgh Pirates, Athletics and Cincinnati Reds. This season in Cincinnati and the Athletics, Andujar batted .318 with 10 home runs and 44 runs batted in.
Blaze Alexander
The infielder from Cape Coral, Florida was traded from the Arizona Diamondbacks to the Baltimore Orioles for three prospects. He batted .230 with seven home runs and 28 runs batted in this past season.
