EPL Week 30 Preview: Stats, Insights, Tips & Everything You Need To Know About Your Team’s Chances
March 8, 2019
We had a big week last round, selecting eight winners from ten games. With only nine rounds remaining the title race is certainly on and we’ve got everything you need to know about every game this round and your team’s chances.
CRYSTAL PALACE VS BRIGHTON AND HOVE ALBION – SATURDAY 9 MARCH, 12:30PM, SELHURST PARK
Brighton can feel the chasing pack breathing on their shoulders as they try to keep some distance between themselves and the relegation zone.
After picking up their first win in over two months last week, they have a chance to win back to back games for the first time since early December against a Palace side that has three wins from its last five.
Brighton’s last set of back to back Premier League wins included a home win over Palace back in December. Since them though, Brighton have been in pretty poor form while Palace has lost just one of its last six in the Premier Leagueare so the play for this game is backing against Brighton more than anything else.

Crystal Palace have lost just one of their last nine home meetings with Brighton in all competitions, having gone down 1-0 in October 2005 in the Championship.

- The ‘Under 2.5 Goals’ market has hit in eight of Crystal Palace’s last nine EPL day matches as a home favourite.

CARDIFF VS WEST HAM – SUNDAY 10 MARCH, 3:00PM, CARDIFF CITY STADIUM
Three-consecutive losses are the tale of the tape for the Bluebirds again and an immediate return to the Championship is looking more and more likely. They are still less than a win below Southampton and safety, but it’s tough seeing where they’re going to get the necessary wins. Enter West Ham, another club that is more up and down than a new bride’s nighty and who surely will not frank last week’s win over Newcastle here.

LEICESTER CITY VS FULHAM – SUNDAY 10 MARCH, 3:00PM, KING POWER STADIUM
Leicester City have been anything but good since Christmas but in a stroke of luck, they strike an even worse team on Saturday night. Fulham are on the straight and narrow towards the Championship and they simply need to win matches to stay afloat, which is something I just do not think that they can do. Last week’s performance against Chelsea actually wasn’t all bad, but they still took absolutely nothing for their troubles, and they’ve been pretty bloody bad on the road.

NEWCASTLE VS EVERTON – SUNDAY 10 MARCH, 3:00PM, ST JAMES’ PARK
The Toffees have probably single-handedly ruined Liverpool’s chances of winning the league, so it’s job done and they can now afford to go to sleep. A draw was all that they needed, and they did it. Scenes. Typically, Newcastle couldn’t be trusted to get the job done when they played West Ham last week. They win when they shouldn’t, lose when they shouldn’t and are generally terrible to watch. By that reasoning, they’ll be winning this.

Newcastle
January signing Miguel Almiron is creating three chances per 90 minutes on average for his team-mates, more than any other Newcastle player.

MANCHESTER CITY VS WATFORD – SUNDAY 10 MARCH, 5:30PM, ETIHAD STADIUM
Eight wins from their last nine including four in a row has City back on top of the table and destination of the Premier League title in their hands.
All they have to do is match Liverpool’s results over the next nine rounds and they will claim back to back Premier League titles, becoming the first team to do so since United did so in 2007/2008 and 2008/2009.
Up next on their list of challengers is a Watford side with three wins from their last four games and currently sitting in eighth place.

CHELSEA VS WOLVERHAMPTON – MONDAY 11 MARCH, 2:05PM, STAMFORD BRIDGE
Wolves picked up a massive upset over Chelsea back in December and the Blues will be out to avoid a repeat of that effort at Stamford Bridge.
They will need to find a way to keep improving on their last two performances beating Tottenham and Fulham as Wolves will see a vulnerable opponent as a great chance for an upset.
Of course, Chelsea has only lost a grand total of one game at home this season so any upset would be highly unlikely here.
Did You Know?

In the Premier League though, Manchester City has been the only visiting team to take maximum points from the Emirates Stadium.
