There was a significant trade in the National Football League on Tuesday between the Miami Dolphins and Denver Broncos. The Dolphins have traded wide receiver Jaylen Waddle of Houston, Texas to the Broncos according to Jeff Legwold and Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.
In the transaction, several draft picks were involved. The Broncos are also receiving the Dolphins’s fourth round pick (111th overall) in the 2026 NFL Draft. The Dolphins are receiving three draft picks in return. They are the first round pick (30th overall), third round pick (94th overall) and fourth round pick (130th overall) in the 2026 NFl Draft.
The Dolphins now have two first round picks. They originally had the 11th overall pick as well.
Do not be surprised if the Dolphins decide to draft a quarterback. In the offseason, the Dolphins signed Malik Willis of College Park, Georgia to a three-year deal worth $67.5 million after playing last season with the Green Bay Packers. Even though Willis will be making a lot of money in the foreseeable future, the Dolphins may consider another quarterback with future potential on their roster. Remember, they decided not to bring back Tua Tagovailoa, who has signed a one year deal worth $1.3 million with the Atlanta Falcons.
The Dolphins will also probably be looking for a wide receiver to replace Waddle. With Miami, this past season, Waddle had 64 catches for 910 receiving yards and six touchdown catches. Over the last four seasons, he had 373 catches for 5039 receiving yards and 26 touchdown catches. Now in Denver, Waddle will be a premier option for Broncos quarterback Bo Nix on a team with Super Bowl aspirations.
