Devin Booker records his fifth career 50-point game

For the fifth time in his National Basketball Association career, Phoenix Suns shooting guard Devin Booker of Grand Rapids, Michigan had 50 points in a game. He in fact had 58 points in a 118-114 Suns win over the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday at the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona.
Booker made 21 of 35 field goals, six of 12 three-pointers, and 10 of 15 free throws. He also had six rebounds, five assists, and was a +11 during 42 minutes and 27 seconds worth of action.
This was the second time this season that Booker had 50 points in a game. On November 30, he had 51 points in a 132-113 Suns win over the Chicago Bulls.
You might think the 58 points were a career high for Booker. Wrong. He in fact had 70 points in a game on March 24, 2017 in a 130-120 Suns loss to the Boston Celtics. Booker also had 59 points in a game on March 25, 2019 in a 125-92 Suns loss to the Utah Jazz.

Booker’s 58 points were the most in his NBA career in a Suns win. The previous high was the 51 points against the Bulls. Booker also had 50 points in a 124-121 Suns loss to the Washington Wizards on March 27, 2019.
In 2022-23, Booker has averaged 28 points per game, 5.8 assists per game, and 4.8 rebounds per game. A three-time All-Star who is now 26 years of age, he has a field goal percentage of .477, three-point percentage of .370, and a free throw percentage of .850.
The Suns lead the Pacific Division with a record of 18 wins and 12 losses. They have a one game lead over the Sacramento Kings and Los Angeles Clippers.
