The Sacramento Kings had a significant 117-115 win over the Utah Jazz on Tuesday. De’Aaron Fox of New Orleans, Louisiana was the Kings’s hero as he made a two-point layup from four feet to end the game with no time left on the clock. There was an instant replay to confirm that Fox got the shot off in time, and after further review, it was determined that indeed Fox had a game-winning basket.
This is not the first time that the Kings point guard had come up huge. Fox made a three-point jump shot from 31 feet with no time left earlier this season in a 126-123 Kings win over the Orlando Magic on November 5. In this game, it was quite the comeback for Sacramento, as they were once down 67-47 with one minute into the second half. Earlier in his career, Fox made the game-winning basket in his rookie season with 13.4 seconds left in a 109-108 Kings win over the Philadelphia 76ers on November 9, 2017.

On Tuesday, Fox had 37 points, just like he had two months ago against Orlando. He made 15 field goals in 22 attempts, six of eight free throws, and one of five three-pointers. Fox added six assists, three rebounds, two blocks and one steal. Despite the strong game offensively, it was a struggle defensively for Fox, as he was a -6. Fox was the only starter for the Kings that was a minus.
So far in 2022-23, Fox is averaging 23.8 points per game, 5.9 assists per game, and 4.6 rebounds per game. The Kings are now at 20 wins and 16 losses, and are in fifth place in the Western Conference.
