Our analyst is keen on a runner who was impressive in when winning last start and looks to be building towards a peak performance.

Best Selection: R5 Straand Deal
Straand Deal brings the strongest form credentials into this race after an impressive last-start victory at Morphettville over 2014m, where he justified strong market support and proved too good late. The Lloyd Kennewell-trained gelding has now won three of his six career starts and continues to improve with racing, boasting an outstanding 50% winning strike rate and a 67% place rate. His recent form has been particularly strong, with a competitive third at Caulfield before returning to the winner’s stall, and he reunites with Mark Zahra, who has already enjoyed success aboard him.
Value Selection: R3 – Mamuno
This gelding looks ready to peak third-up after producing a strong return to form when finishing a close third at Werribee over 1400m. The four-year-old has now placed in two of his three runs this preparation and looks to be building towards another victory, with his latest effort suggesting he has plenty more to offer. He has already proven himself a winner at a similar trip, boasts an excellent third-up record, and remains well placed in this grade. $9 (at time of posting) looks overs.
