The San Antonio Spurs have forced a seventh and deciding game in the 2026 Western Conference Finals of the National Basketball Association postseason. On Thursday night, the Spurs not only beat the Oklahoma City Thunder, they clobbered them by a score of 118-91.
It was the second blowout win for San Antonio over Oklahoma City in the postseason. In game four, the Spurs came through with a dominant 103-82 win. At the time, the Spurs tied the best out of seven series at two games apiece. Now, they have tied the best out of seven series at three games apiece. The seventh game show down will now take place at Oklahoma City on Saturday night.
What we saw on Thursday was excellent production from San Antonio star center Victor Wembanyama, who had the double-double. He had 28 points and 10 rebounds, and was dynamic offensively and defensively.
We also saw someone have a great game off of the Spurs bench, an area that has been in Oklahoma City’s favour throughout the series. The Spurs player who shined in a non-starting role was shooting guard Dylan Harper of Franklin Lakes, New Jersey, who had 18 points.
It was the third quarter where the Spurs were the most dominant. At the half, the game was relatively close. San Antonio had the 60-54 lead. However, in the next 12 minutes after the halftime break, the Spurs took a very comfortable lead by 25 points. The Thunder were outscored 32-13 and could not find a way to score consistently and stop the Spurs attack, led by Wembanyama, the defensive player of the year.
