The Pride sprinter looks set to peak 3rd up and stepping up to 1100m. She has a 2nd and 4th behind the talented Ice Kool in 2 1000m runs this prep. The latest was better than it reads on paper as she just got too far back on a day where the pattern was against but still managed to hit the line strongly. The price is the only knock. If there is evidence of runners making ground over the first two races she becomes a launch job.

I want to stick with the Ryan & Alexiou gelding in the Listed Winter Stakes after what reads as a disappointing 4.6L 9th in the Civic Stakes. Clark went forward from the wide gate against his usual pattern on a day where it was proving hard to make ground. He over raced and never looked settled in the run before dropping out late. Gate 1 allows him to relax nicely somewhere around midfield. $8.5 is just too good of a price for a horse than ran 2nd to Autumn Glow 10 months ago.
