With this city meeting moved to Newcastle, the course curator is clearly looking to preserve the track with the rail out 5m for the entirety. This usually results in on-pace favouritism which will suit the Waterhouse & Bott colt Publicist.

I was impressed with his debut run at Warwick Farm where he jumped well and settled 3rd over 1100m before he was held up at the top of the straight at a time that eventually cost him the race. He soon squeezed through a tight gap and was solid all the way to the line to only go down to Brigantine by 0.4L.

These lightly raced 3yo races can be difficult to map but he looks to lead this lot.
