Best Of The Best : Our 3 Best Bets For Saturday 12th September

Today’s Rosehill meeting is headlined by the Run To The Rose which has attracted a small but extremely talented field. We’ve found 3 horses we’re keen to back today including a runner at $21!

Race 4 – Wayupinthesky

Masked Crusader and Fituese are the quality in the field but sticky draws inside two leaders is enough to be looking in other directions. Happy to have something on a horse that is due for a change of luck.

Wayupinthesky is first-up after a quiet trial but is 3:1-1-0 when resuming. A closer look at her form last preparation shows that she is ready to win at odds. The Snowden trained mare finished a length and a half second to boom sprinter Rubisaki towards the end of last prep, form that should be more than enough to stand up here.

In her final run before spelling, the form guide does show that Fituese beat her home by 3.5 lengths in the Denise Joy Stakes but Wayupinthesky never saw daylight in the straight and should’ve been in the finish. She also meets her rival 4 kg better at the weights today. The $21 on offer looks appealing.

Tip: Wayupinthesky 1 unit e/w @ $21

Race 6 – Farnan

A select but exciting group of 3yos line up in the Group 2 Run to the Rose. All eyes will be on the return of Golden Slipper winner Farnan. The Waterhouse/Bott colt has looked sharp winning 2 trials, the latest by 3.8 lengths. Peltzer and Rothfire will show gate speed from inside draws.  Bowman will have to choice of crossing or box seating from the wide draw. Expecting Farnan to be fit enough to explode down the straight.

The bet of the day.

Tip: Farnan 3 units win @ $2.5

Race 7 – Funstar

Funstar was Waller’s boom 3yo filly last season, with the stable even rating her highly enough to pair her with Winx in track gallops.

She was disappointing first-up when stepping up to unrestricted company but this looks slightly easier and as she gets close to $4 the price looks right. McDonald sticks with her and she maps to get a dream run in the box seat.

Tip: Funstar 2 units win @ $3.2
