This’ll Testya (Curr. $1.70)

Has the makings of a superstar sprinter if he can sort out his raceday antics. The first 2 starts of his career resulted in 2 utterly dominant victories which smashed the clock, running his opponents into the ground before his manners on race-day flared up badly, refusing to enter the barriers and ripping/tearing his head off during his last 2 starts and laying out badly in the straight. Backing that Durrant has helped to fix these issues and educate him better in his time off and think they will let him roll to the top with his natural early speed here from gate 4 and have a feeling he may put on a bit of a show for us if his pre-race manners have improved. Not a betting proposition at the price however, given his little quirks that are to be proven yet as ironed out. One to follow.

Race 6 – 3:55PM IDYLLIC PRINCE STAKES (1300m)

7 Free Trade – 1. Great Shot – 8. Multiverse – 9. Dance Music

Free Trade (Curr. $2.25)

What can I say, wasn’t the only one incredibly disappointed by the 1st up run but am very keen to forgive him for what happened that day, being 1st up with a tearaway leader and the top weight, it made life relatively tough and he just got run off his legs when Parnham really should have been far more aggressive early. This race shapes much better for him, and will have taken something out of the 1st up flop getting out to a more suitable 1300m here. Will get the plumb run on the back of the leader and just needs the splits to come in the straight to prove far too good for mine, given he may find himself in a little pocket when rounding the home bend. A bit of early money has come for Dance Music 1st up, and I couldn’t for the life of me work out why? The last time Dance Music met Free Trade over 1300m was in the Pinjarra Classic when both deep into their preps, where they both got lovely runs in transit behind the leader before Free Trade put pay to her under a little shake-up by 4 lengths no less. $2.25 is more than acceptable for me, best of the day.

Race 7 – 4:35PM AMELIA PARK HANDICAP (1400m)

8. Ration Aly – 4. Super Teroitoa – 5. Annihilator – 1. False Statement

Ration Aly (Curr. $3.10)

2 horse race this one for me, with the main play being this horse 2nd up off a win 1st up after a year out of action that was no less than huge at the midweeks. Was plunged in betting from $10-$3.20, jumped from gate 5 and was really restrained early and jagged back to 2nd last. The pace was on but still had a real big task at the top of the straight, but once he angled out he really let down powerfully in the manner a really good horse does, was super impressive through the line. Doesn’t get the same speed here so will have to do it off a more moderate tempo but looks a horse that is more than capable of moving through the grades and should be able to position up closer from gate 2. Also wary of 2nd up blues having been more than a year off prior to that 1st up run but still confident he can win this on his way to better races moving forward.

Super Teroitoa (Curr. $6.00)

Deserves his chance in town this guy, has been racing extremely well out at Pinjarra so far this prep and gets a nice set-up to run another very cheeky race here. Last start ran 2nd behind Cristal Dane when wide without cover, with the eventual winner getting right out to the middle of the track and finishing over the top, with that part of the track being a travellator on that particular day. The form is actually quite strong, defeating Bel My Pago and Playing Marika (started favourite in a Saturday metro race last weekend) the start prior. The horse has a great relationship with Rails Ramoly and with the lack of speed engaged, I’m pretty confident he will be aggressive early and potentially even lead this field up. If he does, he should be able to do so on a generous speed or if something wishes to take him on, just take the sit in behind. Racing really well, and gets a great chance to break through at city level.

Race 8 – 5:15PM CROWN TOWERS HANDICAP (1000m)

4. Cliffs Of Comfort – 3. Nerodio – 1. We’ve Got Dreams – 11. Don’s Legacy
