Ascot Tip Sheet, Staking Plan and Horses To Follow – Saturday 10th October

Back at Ascot, F***ing finally! In saying that however, cards do not come much tougher than this with big fields, difficult maps and short-priced favourites. Rail goes out 3m but it should be a beautiful day for racing. Track will be, and judging by photos, in fantastic knick.

Race 1 – 12:34PM TABTOUCH WESTSPEED PLATINUM MAIDEN (1400m)

6. Lord Lonsdale – 8. Wednesday – 7. Darcele – 2. Miami City

Lord Lonsdale

Really liked the trials of Lord Lonsdale leading into this 1st up run at his 2nd prep, winning both in nice fashion, particularly liked the way he picked up and extended away from them once put under pressure in decent time at his latest over the 1000m. Showed good early speed at that trial to take up the running and should roll relatively freely to the top here with a good rating front runner in Azzopardi on-board. Form out of the 4th placing on debut last prep also makes for good reading. Very keen.

3. Red Hot Tip – 10. Truly Great – 7. Black Shadow – 5. Zero Demerits

Red Hot Tip

Went back 1st up and should look to roll straight to the top here in a race devoid of any speed. Just went around for a look 1st up and hit the line really well, 2nd fastest L200 of the race. Maps to get away with some cheap sectionals out in front if there is some aggression shown from Hill early, I think he will be hard to run down. 2nd up at the mile pretty keen on his chances each way 1×3.

Truly Great has trialled the house down, genuinely looks primed for a huge prep but this just looks like such an average set-up here for him. 1st up at the mile, drops back to last from the wide draw and left with having to circle the field off a moderate tempo and you’re expected to take even money? Not for mine
