Ascot Selections & Staking Plan: Wednesday 21st April
April 21, 2021
Quite a nice midweek card at Ascot this Wednesday with conditions favouring those out-wide running on down the middle with what is (usually) an inferior ground cut-away in play with the rail out so far. Best bet and only play of the day (Nurhaci in Race 4) has since been scratched this morning so will be another easy midweek meeting to just watch and enjoy.
Race 1 – 11:54PM TABTOUCH BETTER YOUR BET HANDICAP (1200 METRES)
3. First Law – 4. Sheza Chalmer – 5. Critical Altitude – 1. Dark Assault
Really wanted to be with Sheza Chalmer here 1st up, however just not sure the inside of the track is where you are going to want to be today, especially if Carbery settles 3 back the fence, while First Law just looks the perfect horse for Pike to get lengths out of, especially fresh after a terrific fresh effort last prep close-up behind gun filly Kissonallforcheeks. Really good little 3YO race to kick off proceedings.
Race 2 – 12:34PM AMELIA PARK LODGE MAIDEN (1100 METRES)
8. Electric Rose – 9. Silver Bugg – 7. Written Exceed – 2. Rommel’s Command

Race 5 – 2:24PM FURPHY HANDICAP (1800 METRES)
