Key Off Season Acquisitions
The Seahawks acquired three new key players in the offseason. One player was via free agency, and two via trade.
The Seahawks key free agent was strong safety Rayshawn Jenkins of St. Petersburg, Florida, who agreed to a two-year deal worth $12 million. He played four seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers from 2017 to 2020, and the last three seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars from 2021 to 2023. In 2023, Jenkins had 101 combined tackles (66 solo tackles and 35 assisted tackles), seven tackles for a loss, one quarterback hit, two interceptions for 42 yards, and nine pass deflections.
Seattle also acquired quarterback Sam Howell of Waynesville, North Carolina, and linebacker Trevis Gipson of Cedar Hills, Texas. Â Howell was traded from Washington to Seattle with a fourth and sixth round pick in 2024 for a third and fifth round pick in 2024. This past season in Washington, Howell completed 388 passes in 612 attempts for 3946 passing yards, with 21 touchdowns, and 21 interceptions. He also had 48 rushes for 263 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns.
Gipson was traded from the Jacksonville Jaguars to the Seahawks for for a sixth round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Gipson did not play for the Jaguars. He signed as a free agent by Jacksonville on March 18. Gipson previously played three seasons with the Chicago Bears from 2020 to 2022, before one season with the Titans in 2023. This past season, he had six combined tackles (one solo tackle and face assisted tackles), one forced fumble and one sack. The sack, solo tackle, and  forced fumble came in a 27-3 Titans win over the Cincinnati Bengals on October 1.
At head coach, Mike Macdonald of Boston, Massachusetts has taken over from Pete Carroll. Macdonald was the Ravens defensive coordinator from 2022 to 2023.
Fantasy Stars
The Seahawks do not have anyone ranked in the top 10 at their fantasy position.
Projected Finish
Seattle and Arizona are weaker than San Francisco and the LA Rams in the NFC West. Seattle gets the edge over Arizona for third because they have a slightly better defense.
