2024 Philadelphia Eagles Projected Finish, Key Signings and Fantasy Stars

In the 26th of a 32-part series, we are featuring all National Football League teams with a prediction of where each team will finish within their division, key off-season acquisitions and their top fantasy stars. Here are the Philadelphia Eagles.

Key Off Season Acquisitions

The Eagles acquired three notable players in free agency. They were linebacker Bryce Huff, running back Saquon Barkley, and safety Chauncey Gardner-Johnson.

Huff of Mobile, Alabama signed a three-year deal worth $51.1 million with the Eagles. He spent the last four years with the New York Jets. In 2023, Huff had 29 combined tackles (19 solo tackles and 10 assisted tackles), 10 tackles for a loss, 21 quarterback hits, 10 sacks and one pass deflection. The pass deflection came in a 30-28 New York Jets win over the Philadelphia Eagles on December 24.

Barkley from Bronx, New York has spent his entire NFL career with the Giants from 2018 to 2023, before joining the Eagles for a three year contract worth $37.75 million. This past season in 2023, Barkley had 962 rushing yards, and six rushing touchdowns, along with 41 catches for 280 receiving yards and four touchdowns.

Gardner-Johnson from Cocoa, Florida is returning to the Eagles. He played there in 2022. Gardner-Johnson also played for the New Orleans Saints from 2019 to 2021 and the Detroit Lions in 2023. He signed a three-year deal worth $27 million. In 2023, Gardner-Johnson had 17 combined tackles (16 solo tackles and one assisted tackle), three pass deflections and one interception. The interception came in a 30-20 Lions win over the Minnesota Vikings on January 7.

The Eagles also acquired wide receiver Jahan Dotson of Newark, New Jersey from the Washington Commanders, and quarterback Kenny Pickett of Oakhurst, New Jersey from the Pittsburgh Steelers. Dotson was traded with a fifth round pick in the 2025 National Football League Draft for a third round pick and two seventh round picks in the 2025 NFL Draft. In 2023, Dotson had 49 catches for 518 receiving yards and four touchdowns. Also this past season, Pickett completed 201 passes in 324 attempts, along with six touchdowns and four interceptions. He also had 42 rushes for 54 yards and one rushing touchdown. The rushing touchdown came in a 24-17 Steelers win over the Los Angeles Rams on October 22. Pickett was traded with a fourth round pick in 2024 for a third round pick in 2024 and two seventh round picks in 2025.

Fantasy Stars

Jalen Hurts of Houston, Texas is second among quarterbacks, only behind Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills. In 2023, he completed 352 passes in 538 attempts for 3858 passing yards, 23 passing touchdowns and 15 interceptions. Hurts also had 157 rushes for 605 rushing yards and 15 rushing touchdowns. A.J. Brown of Starkville, Mississippi is seventh among wide receivers. Last season he had 106 catches for 1456 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. Saquon Barkley is sixth among running backs. Kicker Jake Elliott of La Grange, Illinois is ranked fourth. Last season he made 30 of 32 field goals and 45 of 46 converts. The Eagles are ranked ninth on defense. Where they were effective were with their 69 hurries (rushing the quarterback before he was ready). Only the Detroit Lions had more with 74.

Projected Finish

The Eagles are the best team in the NFC East. The Cowboys are good, but the difference is Barkley, as the Cowboys will struggle with the running game.
