2024 New York Giants Projected Finish, Key Signings and Fantasy Stars

In the 24th of a 32-part series, we are featuring all National Football League teams with a prediction of where each team will finish within their division, key off-season acquisitions and their top fantasy stars. Here are the New York Giants.

Key Off Season Acquisitions

The Giants were quite busy in the offseason as they acquired four key free agents and made a trade with the Carolina Panthers. New York signed guard Jon Runyan Jr. of Houston, Texas, running back Devin Singletary of Deerfield Beach, Florida, right tackle Jermaine Eluemunor of London, England, and quarterback Drew Lock of Columbia, Missouri. New York also acquired defensive end Brian Burns of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and a draft pick for three draft picks.

Runyan Jr. has played the last four seasons with the Green Bay Packers before signing a three-year deal worth $30 million with the Giants. In 67 games, Runyan Jr. had one fumble recovery, and played guard.

Singletary is joining the Giants on a three-year deal worth $16.5 million. The Giants needed a running back to replace Saquon Barkley, who went to Philadelphia. Singletary has spent four seasons with the Buffalo Bills from 2019 to 2022, and one season with the Houston Texans. Last season in Houston, Singletary had 898 rushing yards, four rushing touchdowns, and 30 catches for 193 receiving yards.

Eluemunor signed a two-year deal worth $14 million with the Giants. He also played two years each with the Baltimore Ravens (2017 and 2018), and with the New England Patriots (2019 and 2020), and three seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders (2021 to 2023).

Lock signed a one-year deal worth $5 million with the New York Giants. Last season with the Seahawks, Lock backed up Geno Smith. He completed 48 of 76 passes for 543 passing yards,  along with three passing touchdowns, and three interceptions, and five rushes for 14 rushing yards. Lock also spent his first three NFL seasons with the Denver Broncos from 2019 to 2021.

Burns was traded to the Giants from the Panthers with a fifth round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft for a second and fifth round pick in 2024 and a fifth round pick in 2025. A Pro Bowler in 2021 and 2022, Burns had 50 combined tackles (32 solo tackles and 18 assisted tackles), 16 tackles for a loss, two pass deflections, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and eight sacks in 2023. The fumble recovery came in a 9-7 Panthers win over the Atlanta Falcons on December 17. Burns played the last five seasons with the Panthers.

Fantasy Stars

The Giants do not have anyone selected in the top 10 for any fantasy football position.

Projected Finish

New York should finish last in the NFC East. None of the transactions they made were of substance after winning only six games last year.
