2023 NFL Week 8 Preview: Our Expert Tips & Staking Plan
October 29, 2023
We may have our first snow game in the NFL this weekend. That means the season is really warming up. These wins and losses are starting to mean more and with the trade deadline looming, some teams will be moving on to 2024 if things do not go well this week.
I will likely be adding some more picks before the games so make sure to check back.
Houston Texans @ Carolina Panthers
It is the battle of the top two picks in the draft as Bryce Young takes on CJ Stroud. It is hard to argue that Stroud has not started his career stronger. The Texans have three wins and look a really solid team. But off the back of a bye, the Panthers have a chance to get their first win of the season here and I think it is one that they will take. They have been opening up the playbook for Young with every game and they can finally get the win their better play has been trending towards.

Jacksonville Jaguars @ Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers have not played good football, but they are getting results. I do not think it is sustainable. The Jaguars have been getting better and better and this is a real test of if they are for real. I believe they are and they can prove it here with a big win on the road.
USA USER BETS
- 2 units ($200) Jaguars -2Â @ -115 with BetUS
AUS USER BETS
- 2 units ($200) Jaguars -1.5 @ 1.88 with TopSport
New York Jets @ New York Giants
The Giants showed last week that they are not the pushover that they had maybe looked like early on this season during a brutal schedule. It will be tough against a great Jets defence, but they can upset their MetLife stadium housemates here and get a big win that perhaps keeps some players in New York. Lose, and the phone could be ringing for the likes of Saquon Barkley.
USA USER BETS
- 2 units ($200) Giants +3 @ -110 with BetUS
- 1 unit ($100) Giants moneyline @ +145 with BetUS
AUS USER BETS
- 2 units ($200) Giants +3 @ 1.91 with TopSport
- 1 unit ($100) Giants moneyline @ 2.38 with TopSport
Cincinnati Bengals @ San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers have been exposed the past couple of weeks. They have some injury concerns and while the offence has not been at its best, defensively they have dropped off a little as well. They are so good at getting after the quarterback, but that has not been there. Joe Burrow comes into this off the bye and should be at, or very close to, 100%. The Bengals have shown a few signs of being back to that incredible team we have come to know, and I think the be came at a great time. They can pull off a big upset and remind people they are real contenders.
