In the first of a 32-part series, we will feature all National Football League teams with a prediction of where each team will finish within their division, key off-season acquisitions and their top fantasy stars. We will begin with the Arizona Cardinals.
Key Off Season Acquisition
Arizona’s most significant free agent acquisition was outside linebacker Kyzir White, who came to terms on a two-year contract worth $10 million. Last season White had 110 combined tackles, three quarterback hits, three tackles for a loss, seven pass deflections and 1.5 sacks with a Philadelphia Eagles squad that went to the Super Bowl. White is returning to the west. The native of Plainfield, New Jersey was with the Los Angeles Chargers for four seasons before one season in Philadelphia.
The Cardinals also have a new head coach. Jonathan Gannon of Cleveland, Ohio, who was most recently the defensive co-ordinator of the Philadelphia Eagles, replaces Kliff Klingsbury.
Top Fantasy Stars
The Cardinals had no one ranked in the top 10 at their position in fantasy football this past year. It is safe to say that more was expected from quarterback Kyler Murray, but he only ranked 20th among NFL quarterbacks. That is without a doubt a very disappointing rank for a quarterback who has four years of NFL experience and was the first overall pick from the 2019 NFL Draft.
Prediction
Well last year I thought the Cardinals would be great, and boy was I wrong. Arizona only won one game at home all season, and was the worst team in the NFC West at four wins and 13 losses. Now without star wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, who they released, Arizona seems to be in rebuilding mode. It is very likely that they will finish worst in the division for a second straight year.
