The Big Bash returned this week, and the action will continue over the weekend.
Tonight sees the Sydney Thunder take on the Melbourne Stars in Canberra.
England’s test captain, Joe Root will make his debut in the Big Bash for the Thunder in that match.
Tomorrow holds two games, with the Sydney Sixers hosting the Perth Scorchers at the SCG.
Brisbane Heat will be hoping to redeem themselves after their first game lost to the Scorchers, when they play the Hobart Hurricanes on the Gold Coast.
On Sunday, the Adelaide Strikers start their season against the Melbourne Renegades.
All this cricket action will keep fans happy before next week’s Boxing Day Test.
Dortmund vs Monchengladbach
Borussia Dortmund take on Borussia Monchengladbach in the Bundesliga this weekend.
It’ll be a battle of first versus second, with Dortmund sitting 6 points clear of Monchengladbach atop of the table.
It’s strange for a top of the league clash in Germany to not include Bayern Munich, but the pressure will be on both of these teams to keep ahead of the Bavarians with a win.
Dortmund will be hoping to bounce back from their midweek match, where they suffered their first loss of the season to Fortuna Dusseldorf.
Monchengladbach will be feeling the pressure to perform with a resurgent Bayern hot on their heels.
Bayern are third in the league on goal difference only, having the same win/loss/draw record as Monchengladbach.
A-League Action
The weekend’s A-League action is mouthwatering for sports fans, with first playing third and second playing fourth, with the latter being a derby as well!
Tonight, the unbeaten Perth Glory host Sydney FC at nib Stadium.
Sydney are coming off a 3-1 victory in their local derby against the Wanderers last week.
Perth will be hoping to make it three wins in a row, to keep their position atop of the league.
Elsewhere, Melbourne City play crosstown rivals Melbourne Victory.
Victory sit in second place, five points ahead of City in fourth.
That match takes place at Melbourne Rectangular Stadium on Saturday Night.
Juventus vs Roma
Italian giants Juventus and Roma collide this weekend.
The Old Lady, with the help of Cristiano Ronaldo are crushing it in the Serie A this season, continuing their dominance in Italy.
They’ve won the league in each of the last seven seasons, and are on track to make it eight in a row.
Meanwhile, Roma, despite having only lost a single game in their last seven matches, are trailing back in seventh position.
That’ll make Roma all the more hungry to cause an upset.
Dependent on other results, a win this weekend could result in Roma climbing multiple positions up the table.
