We had form analyst Dean Watling review the times and replays of the recent trials at Rosehill and he has picked three horses that should be in the winners stall when they return to the races this preparation.
Tailleur
- Trial – 897m
- Time – Overall: 54.33 L600: 34.80
- Trainer: J Cummings
Lovely trial by the unread 3yo Shooting To Win filly, out of the Godolphin yard who knows how to get horses firing first up. Time wasn’t too flash but caught my eye in the last 100m.
Didn’t handle the turn very well and the wanted to do a little wrong in the straight but just kept coming, last 100m was smooth and with the editions of blinkers first up can win a nice maiden.

Heart Of Oak
- Trial – 897m
- Time – Overall: 53.68 L600: 33.60
- Trainer: G Ryan
Some return from Gerald Ryan trained 3yo. Was on the heels of impressive pandemic and the saluted with 2 solid wins before a spell. Tear away leader in the trial where they got along at a solid pace.
Heart Of Oak sat off them confidently and his last 200m was ultra impressible, quickly picking up the leader with composure and racing away. Fastest overall time and L600 – 33.60 of the morning by a fair margin.

Amish Boy
- Trial – 897m
- Time – Overall: 54.69 L600: 35.00
- Trainer: C Maher & D Eustace
Lovely clean up trial after a terrific first-up run against some impressive 2yo. I have a big opinion of Euphoric Summer and this 2yo Star Witness Colt held his own. Love his powerful stride and his sharpness in response to the rider.
The racing pattern is against him and will need a nice tempo but there is more than enough ability under the hood. Time wasn’t to flash but take note, was eased done at the 50m after a solid turn of foot. Beautiful colt.
