Trial Review: Horses To Follow From Randwick 13/12
December 18, 2019

We had form analyst Dean Watling review the times and replays of the recent trials at Randwick and he has picked three horses that should be in the winners stall when they return to the races this preparation.
Rosina Kojonup
- Trial – 1050m
- Time – Overall: 1.03.27 L600: 34.60
- Trainer: Bjorn Baker
Third prep in now for the Shamus Award mare, trained out of the Baker yard and has looked to have come back impressively. Lead them up in both trials and settled well under the command of Jason Collett, stride looked to be relaxed with plenty left in the tank.
I would love to see her return in a nice BM70 on a mid-week, where she can control them from the front. Fastest L600 – 34.60 from the 1050m trials by a margin.

Isaurian
- Trial – 735m
- Time – Overall: 43.83 L600: 33.90
- Trainer: J Cummings
Beautiful trial by the lightly raced Godolphin 5yo gelding. Sat off the speed and settled nicely, peel off the leaders back and took a nice inside run when cruising and then extending late when asked. Time was solid and I’m expecting a second trial before a first-up run. Lovely gelding.

Quantico
- Trial – 735m
- Time – Overall: 42.99 L600: 33.40
- Trainer: John O’Shea
This I Am Invincible Colt was ultra-impressive in his first trial back. Ran home fastest overall time and fastest L600 – 22.40 of the morning. Love the way he stalked the lead and then responded sharply when Mcdonald urged for an effort.
Always love to follow whom James Mcdonald rides in trials as he is a very good judge. Wasn’t far off Fiery Red in first up campaign and has looked to come back much more intelligent.
