Trial Review: Horses That Caught The Eye At The Trials This Week 4/12
December 5, 2025
A big morning of 21 trials at Canterbury on Tuesday morning. Check out all the blackbooked runners that look ready to fire early in their preps.
Miss Kim Kar
The Baker mare looks ready to add to her 10: 4-1-2 record after catching the eye with a 0.5L 3rd over 1100m. She settled worse than midfield and was held up on heels until the 150m where she made a great run through the line. She is one to watch out for in BM72-78 grade over the summer.
Unleeshing
Another Baker mare that looks set to find the winners enclosure over the summer after a sharp 1.4L win over 1100m. She settled back in the field and unlike her stablemate, had the benefit of seeing clear running from the top of the straight. She showed a sharp turn of foot to win under minimal pressure. She does require decent middle gates with her pattern but is one for the future with a 1.1L 2nd to Private Harry on her record from last prep this time last year.

Cinsault
The Freedman/Godolphin mare looks to have returned in great order after settling behind the speed Way To The Stars and rounding him up to score a stylish 0.3L win. She has form around Frosty Rocks from last prep and looks to be ready to go fresh.
Masvingo
The Zoustar 2yo filly looks to have returned in great order for her 2nd career prep after settling back in the field and looming up nicely down the outside under hands and heels before going to the line under a hold to finish 0.1L 3rd. She was well backed when hitting strongly for 3rd in the G3 Gimrack at her only run to date.Â
