Trial Review: Horses That Caught The Eye At The Trials This Week 3/10

Warwick Farm hosted the lone day of Sydney trials this week. Our analyst has picked out a couple of sharp triallers that look ready to break their maiden as well as an exciting sprinter that really impressed with his tick over trial.

Weekend Market

The Godolphin mare looks to be hard to beat wherever she debuts for Gary Portelli after a dominant 8L trial win at Warwick Farm. She settled outside the leader and exploded away when shaken up at the top of the straight. The competition may not have been the best but the margin has to be respected all the same.

Mortal Halo

The Archibal colt settled back in the field over 818m and loomed up nicely without being asked to do anything to finish 0.7L 4th in a really bunched finish. He should bring some residual fitness from a Queensland winter campaign. I would love to see him land at the midweeks on returning.

Raging Force

The exciting Snowden 3yos tick over trial showed he still has more wins in him this prep. He showed versatility settling a couple of lengths off the leader and gathered them up quickly when Berry pressed the button. He arguably didn’t run a strong 1200m in the Run to the Rose so it would be nice to see him target something back over 1100m.
