Trial Review: Horses That Caught The Eye At The Trials This Week 29/1

The stars of the autumn continued to roll out at Randwick and Rosehill trials this week. Check out all the runners that made their way into the black book.

Tempted

The Everest runner up returned with a fantastic trial that was much better than what it will read in the form guide. She settled towards the rear with J Mac in the saddle before working her way to the outside on the turn. She looked like she was going to go straight by the likes of Lindermann and Sir Delius at the 200m without being asked to do much before J Mac took a strong hold of her as she finished 1.8L 4th. I can’t wait to see how she looks in her 2nd trial.

Beiwacht

The Golden Rose winner looks to be flying after a a 0.7L 900m trial win at Randwick. He settled behind Spring Lee in the lead and let down impressively to run away with it. He ran 0.41s quicker than Marhoona and Autumn Glow in the only other Group and Listed 900m trial on the morning.

Napoleonic

The O’Shea & Charlton colt impressed with his 1.4L win over 1050m at Randwick on Tuesday. He settled 2nd and let down strongly under hands and heels riding. When he was challenged by Tuileries 100m from the post he responded well to kick clear. The G3 Red Anchor Stakes winner looks set to make an impact come the autumn.

Nafanua

The Baker filly backed up her outstanding 5L trial win at Rosehill with another impressive all the way effort scoring by 1.8L over 1050m at Randwick. She looks ready to break through in maiden company wherever she lands.

Samarelle

The G3 Reginald Allen runner up settled a pair back of midfield in her 1050m trial at Randwick and rocketed home when shaken up at the 200m to score a 0.2L win doing her best work through the post.
