Trial Review: Horses That Caught The Eye At The Trials This Week 28/8

Rosehill hosted 15 trials on Thursday morning. Click below to see our analysts thoughts on a Waterhouse/Bott 3yo ran within a length of Private Harry and a Hawkesbury Guineas winner that looks ready to perform 1st up.

North England

The G3 Golden Gift winner looks to be in great shape ahead of his 3yo campaign after a 0.9L 2nd to Private Harry in the opener. Whilst he was under slightly more pressure than the Everest 2nd favourite, the fact he managed to put a 5L gap on Coleman in 3rd place, suggests he is going very well.

The Snowden 4yo strung together consecutive win at Warwick Farm and in the G3 Hawkesbury Guineas before being run down late to finish 0.2L 2nd in the G3 Fred Best last prep. He settled 3L behind a keen leader in his 1030m trial and I loved the turn of foot he showed at the top of the straight under minimal riding. He went on to win by 0.4L eased down the final 100m. He looks ready to take on some strong opposition once he gets to 1400-1600m 2nd and 3rd up.
