Trial Review: Horses That Caught The Eye At The Trials This Week 13/10

Check out the runners you must black book from Monday morning’s Rosehill trials. Headlined by a G1 Coolmore hopeful that looks to be ticking along nicely and a pair of Coolmore 2yos that look set to be big players this 2yo season.

Beiwacht

The Golden Rose winner doesn’t look to have missed a beat as he is being freshened for the G1 Coolmore Stakes. He jumped well and led a quality field and hadn’t been asked for an effort until Stefi Magnetica loomed up inside him. Hyeronimus gave him a slight shake up at the 200m and he held off the Doncaster winner who was under a lot more pressure. He does have to manage dropping back to 1200m but all indications are that he is going to perform well in the stallion making G1.

Ninette

The Hawkes mare was the most impressive trialler of the morning finding the lead easily and bounding away unchallenged for a dominant 3.3L win. The 52.67s time was outstanding and was 1.24s faster than any of the other nine 900m trials on the morning. She looks ready to add to her 2: 1-1-0 career record 1st up.

Defensemen

The Waller Wootton Bassett colt really impressed in his debut trial settling in behind the speed and putting his rivals away by 1.5L eased down the final 50m. He is definitely one to watch out for when he debuts.

Whitehall

Waller, McDonald and Coolmore combined again with another 2yo that has to be black booked. The I Am Invincible colt wasn’t as sharp out of the gates as his stablemate in the proceeding trial and settled at the rear of the 4 horse field. He worked his way to the leaders heels on straightening and raced in restricted room until the 100m where he jumped out of the ground to finish 0.6L 2nd in a real eye-catcher.
