Global Ausbred’s two runs this time suggest he’s come back to racing a much better horse. Looked set for victory last start at Rosehill Gardens but was overpowered in the closing stages. He’s third-up and he’s one for one at that stage of his preparation. He’s a Newcastle winner and Hugh Bowman sticks with him.

He resumed from a 79 week break with a great second at Warwick Farm then at his last start he had excuses as he got his tongue over the bit. He’s had one third-up start for an easy win. Punters think he is well placed in the final event and have backed him solidly.

Two runs back from a spell have produced placings in strong Benchmark 70 events. Craig Williams goes back on and he has had one ride on her for a fourth in the $200,000 VOBIS Distaff race. Classy galloper resuming from a spell. Over winter he had some great duels with the likes of Cardinal Gem and Jimmy The Bear and he threw away some races against them before he finally won over 1600m at Flemington. He’s a talented galloper who looks well placed in a Benchmark 70.
