The National Football League had a very intriguing Week 10 season with some intriguing matchups, an interesting decision, and an exceptional play that will be remembered for quite some time. Here are the top five storylines.
5) Nick Chubb’s decision impacts fantasy football. In the final minute of the game on Sunday between the Houston Texans and Cleveland Browns, Cleveland was up 10-7. Browns running back Nick Chubb had a 59-yard run when he remarkably went out of bounds instead of the end zone. The decision meant the Browns could run out the clock and guarantee victory rather than giving the football back to Houston. Chubb’s decision has been the talk of the fantasy football world the last 48 hours.
4) NFC West gets tighter. We now have a three-way tie for the lead in the NFC West. On Sunday, the Los Angeles Rams beat the Seattle Seahawks 23-16. Both teams are now at 6-3, and are joined on top of the division by the Arizona Cardinals.
3) Remarkable ending to Cardinals and Bills. In what could be considered the play of the year, Kyler Murray threw a 43-yard bomb to DeAndre Hopkins near the end of the game in a 32-30 Cardinals win over the Buffalo Bills Sunday afternoon in Arizona. Hopkins caught the ball around three Bills defenders to help Arizona win the contest.
2)Â Brees out for a while. In the New Orleans Saints’ 27-13 win over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, Drew Brees broke his ribs and had a collapsed lung. He will be out for a while. It will now be interesting if Sean Payton goes with Taysom Hill or Jameis Winston at quarterback Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons.
1) Steelers remain undefeated. Pittsburgh continues to be the best team in the NFL at 9-0. On Sunday, Ben Roethlisberger had four touchdown passes in a 36-10 win over the Cincinnati Bengals. The Steelers receiving corps of Diontae Johnson, JuJu Smith-Schuster and Chase Claypool are playing at a high level at the moment.
