Top five rookies from week one of 2025 NFL season

Week one of the 2025 National Football League regular season is now complete. Here are the top five players on winning teams.
5) RJ Harvey
The 24-year-old native of Orlando, Florida had six rushes for 70 rushing yards in his debut with the Denver Broncos. It was a battle for Denver throughout the contest, but the Broncos prevailed with a 20-12 win over the Tennessee Titans. Harvey was the Broncos’s second round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft out of Central Florida.
4) Tyler Warren
The 23-year-old native of Mechanicsville, Virginia had seven catches for 76 receiving yards and three rushing yards in a 33-8 Indianapolis Colts win over the Miami Dolphins. Warren was one reason why Daniel Jones had a great Colts debut. The Colts rookie tight end was Indianapolis’s first round pick, 14th overall, in the 2025 NFL Draft out of Penn State.
3) Ashton Jeanty
The 21-year-old native of Jacksonville, Florida had 19 rushes for 38 receiving yards and one touchdown in a 20-13 Las Vegas Raiders win over the New England Patriots. Jeanty’s touchdown was three yards and put the Raiders up 14-10. He was the Raiders’s first round pick, sixth overall in the 2025 NFL Draft out of Boise State.
2) Jacory Croskey-Merritt
The 24-year-old native of Montgomery, Alabama had 10 rushes for 82 receiving yards and one touchdown in a 21-6 Washington Commanders win over the New York Giants. His touchdown was for six yards and put Washington up 14-3. Croskey-Merritt was the Commanders’s seventh round pick, 245th overall, out of the University of Arizona.
1) Emeka Egbuka
The native of Tacoma, Washington had four catches for 67 receiving yards, two touchdown catches, and nine yards rushing in a 23-20 Tampa Bay Buccaneers win over the Atlanta Falcons. Egbuka had touchdown catches of 25 yards and 30 yards from Baker Mayfield. Egbuka was the Buccaneers’s first round pick, 19th overall, out of Ohio State.
