Top five rookies from Week Nine of the 2022 NFL Season

The ninth week of the 2022 National Football League regular season is now in the books. Here were the top five offensive rookies from winning teams.

5) James Mitchell–Detroit Lions

The Detroit Lions fifth round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft caught his first NFL touchdown on Sunday in a 15-9 Detroit win over the Green Bay Packers. It was a three-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Jared Goff nine seconds into the fourth quarter. The native of Norton, Virginia might have only had two catches for eight yards, but the tight end was instrumental in Detroit’s win.

4) Isaiah Likely–Baltimore Ravens

The native of Cambridge, Massachusetts was the Ravens’s fourth round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft out of Coastal Carolina. He had one catch for 24 yards and one touchdown in a 27-13 Ravens win over the New Orleans Saints on Monday night. Likely now has touchdowns in back-to-back weeks. The 22 year-old tight end had a 10-yard touchdown catch from Lamar Jackson in a 27-22 Ravens win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to begin week eight. The Ravens are now at six wins and three losses, and lead the AFC North.

3) Garrett Wilson–New York Jets

The rookie wide receiver out of Ohio State had a big game for the surging New York Jets on Sunday. Garrett Wilson, the 10th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft had eight catches for 92 yards, and one rush for seven yards in New York’s 20-17 upset win over the Buffalo Bills. The Jets are now 6-3 and are tied with the Miami Dolphins for second place in the AFC East. Both the Jets and Dolphins are only half a game back of the Bills.

2) Cade Otton–Tampa Bay Buccaneers

With Cameron Brate out with a neck injury, rookie Cade Otton of the University of Washington became the primary tight end for Tampa Bay on Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams. He had five catches for 68 yards and one touchdown in a 16-13 Tampa Bay win. The touchdown was a one-yard game-winning touchdown catch from Tom Brady with nine seconds left on the clock. 1) Kenneth Walker III–Seattle Seahawks

Rashaad Penny’s replacement is having a fantastic rookie season at running back. On Sunday, Kenneth Walker III had 109 rushing yards and two touchdowns, along with three catches for 20 yards as the Seattle Seahawks beat the Arizona Cardinals 31-21. Walker III now has 111 rushes for 570 yards and seven touchdowns in 2022. The Seahawks lead the NFC West at six wins and three losses.
