Top five rookies from Week 14 of the NFL season

The National Football League has one month left in its regular season. Here are the top five rookies who made a splash on winning teams in Week 14.

5) Jauan Jennings–San Francisco 49ers

The rookie out of Tennessee had three catches for 46 yards in a close 26-23 49ers overtime win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. Jennings did have a fumble from a reception, but was able to get the pigskin back with a fumble recovery. With the win, San Francisco moved above .500 to seven wins and six losses on the season. They currently sit in sixth place in the National Football Conference.

4) Kyle Pitts–Atlanta Falcons

The rookie tight end out of Florida had five catches for 61 yards in a 29-21 Falcons win over the Carolina Panthers. It has been a solid season for Pitts. He has 54 catches for 770 yards, and the first round pick has moved himself into a reliable option for quarterback Matt Ryan in the Atlanta passing game.

3) Josh Palmer–Los Angeles Chargers

Without Keenan Allen, the Chargers seemed to be in trouble on Sunday against the New York Giants. However, Josh Palmer stepped up big time with a steady performance. In a 37-21 Chargers victory, the young Canadian had five catches for 66 yards and one touchdown. With the win, the Chargers improved to a record of eight wins and five losses.

2) Derrick Gore–Kansas City Chiefs

The National Football League has had a great running back over the last 15 years with the last name of Gore. Now after the change of sports from football to boxing for Frank Gore, another Gore has stepped up to the forefront. On Sunday, Kansas Chiefs running back Derrick Gore had a solid performance backing up Clyde Edwards-Helaire. Gore had nine rushes for 66 yards and one touchdown, along with two catches for 23 yards in a 48-9 Chiefs win over the Las Vegas Raiders.

1) Javonte Williams–Denver Broncos

The up and down season for the Denver Broncos continued on Sunday. Javonte Williams stepped up with his first multi-touchdown performance of his NFL career as he had 15 rushes for 73 yards and one touchdown, along with one catch for 10 yards and another major score. The Broncos also had their most dominant win of the season, in a 38-10 win over the Detroit Lions. With the win, the Broncos improved to seven wins and six losses.
