Week 13 of the 2023 National Football League regular season is now complete. Here are the top five performances by rookies on winning teams.
5) C.J. Stroud
The Houston Texans star quarterback from Rancho Cucamonga, California completed 16 of 27 passes for 274 passing yards and one touchdown, along with 11 rushing yards in a 22-17 Houston win over the Denver Broncos. Stroud’s touchdown pass was three yards to Nico Collins. With the win, the Texans improved to a record of seven wins and five losses.
4) Brandon Aubrey
The Dallas Cowboys continue to roll and have now won four straight games. On Thursday, Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey of St. Louis, Missouri made four field goals of 30, 31, 32, and 38 yards, along with three converts. Dallas beat Seattle 41-35 and are now at nine wins and three losses.
3) Puka Nacua
The Los Angeles Rams rookie wide receiver from Las Vegas, Nevada had four catches for 105 yards and one touchdown along with two rushes for 34 yards in a 36-19 Rams win over the Cleveland Browns. Nacua’s touchdown catch was 70 yards from quarterback Matt Stafford. With the win, the Rams also improved to 6-6.
2) Sam LaPorta
The marvelous Detroit Lions rookie tight end from Highland, Illinois had a career day as he caught nine passes for 140 yards in a 33-28 Detroit win over the New Orleans Saints. LaPorta has 64 catches for 679 receiving yards and six touchdowns on the season.
1) De’Von Achane
The Miami Dolphins rookie running back from Missouri City, Texas is now back after his knee injury and running at full speed. On Sunday, Achane had 17 rushes for 73 yards and two touchdowns, along with three catches for 30 yards as the Miami Dolphins beat the Washington Commanders 45-15. With the win, the Dolphins improved to a record of nine wins and three losses and lead the AFC East.
