The National Football League has three more weeks left in the regular season. Here are the top five headlines from Week 15.
5) Cincinnati, Indianapolis and Detroit have statement home wins on Saturday.
It was a very intriguing Saturday in week 15. There were three games, and all six teams that played were above .500. The Cincinnati Bengals beat the Minnesota Vikings 27-24 in overtime thanks to a game-winning 29-yard field goal by Evan McPherson of Fort Payne, Alabama. Matt Gay of Orem, Utah made three field goals in a 30-13 Colts win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, and Sam Laporta of Highland, Illinois had three touchdown catches in a 42-17 Detroit win over the Denver Broncos. With the wins, the Bengals and Colts improved to a record of eight wins and six losses, while the Lions improved to a record of 10 wins and four losses and lead the NFC North.
4) Look out for the Buffalo Bills!
Buffalo looked to be in deep trouble a couple of weeks ago as they were only at the .500 mark at six wins and six losses. But then they beat the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs 20-17 a week ago and than ran all over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday in a 31-10 romp. It is safe to say that James Cook is clearly the best Cook brother at the moment. On Sunday, James Cook had 179 rushing yards.
3) Chicago Bears could have beaten the Cleveland Browns.
The Cleveland Browns beat the Chicago Bears by a whisker on Sunday. Yes, the Browns won 20-17, but on the final play of the game, Bears wide receiver Darnell Mooney dropped a 45-yard Hail Mary which could have given Chicago the win. As a result, the Browns improved to a record of nine wins and five losses.
2) Baker Mayfield perfect.
On Sunday, Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield of Austin, Texas was simply sensational in a 34-20 Tampa Bay win over the Green Bay Packers. Mayfield had a perfect quarterback rating of 158.3, as he completed 22 of 28 passes for 381 passing yards and four touchdowns.
1) Still stunning 84 scored in Raiders/Chargers game.
It is still stunning the Raiders set a franchise record in points for one game on Sunday in a 63-21 win over the Chargers. Remember, the Raiders were blanked a week ago in a 3-0 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, and the Chargers had a 6-0 shutout win earlier this month against New England. .
