Titans re-sign Dally M halfback of the year in NRLW coup

The NRL Womens’ Dally M halfback of the year, Lauren Brown, has signed a three-year extension with the Gold Coast Titans that will see her in blue and gold through to at least 2027.

Brown has already been a Titan for three campaigns after leaving the Brisbane Broncos in 2022 but she just seems to be getting better and better in her role as a veteran halfback. In 2024, the 29-year-old hit her best level yet and was crowned the best no.7 in the game as the Titans finished eighth in the 10-team competition.

The year before, Brown played a huge role in guiding them to the grand final (which they lost to Newcastle).

The 2020 NRLW champion has long been a representative star in the women’s game too, debuting for Queensland back in 2020 and stepping into the Aussie green and gold for seven Tests between 2022 and 2023.

Titans coach Karyn Murphy said she’s “very excited” Brown will be staying.

“She’s a genuine gamebreaker with her ability to clinch the big moments and is one of the game’s premier playmakers, having been a staple for both the Maroons and Jillaroos in the last few years,” she said.

“She has been a big part of our side with her ability to play in both the halves and at hooker and is a huge role model for our young and upcoming players in our squad and pathways.

“I know how much she loves the Gold Coast and how determined she is to bring success here.”
