The Plunge’s Trial Review: Horses Must Follow From The Trials 4/12

The Plunge has over 15 years of experience when it comes to finding horses to put in the black book and he has joined our team to bring you a list of horses to follow from the trials over the past week.

Glamour and Glory

This 2yo filly was a little green at Rosehill but the way she motored through the field in a checkered passage in her second trial shows she has some serious galloping ability. Similar to her first trial, she was slow away and settled at the rear but weaved her way through the field to finish 0.5L away third.

When To Bet

She still has a bit to learn, particularly when the gates first open but she is worth having something on over 1100m at the midweeks. Second-up over 1200m will be when to look for her.

Fake Love

Another 2yo filly that lead all the way and ran serious time. Whilst being under a decent hold up the straight, the Maher & Eustace filly impressed when challenged by two different horses. She kicked clear both at the top of the straight and at the 100m mark, which suggests she’s a competitor. The 53.62 was the fastest 900m trial time of the morning. Not bad for a 2yo filly without race experience.

When To Bet

I would happily have something on in a 1000m-1100m Saturday city race. A fillies restricted race would be ideal. Keep an eye out for this one.

Athiri

This Godolphin mare came on leaps and bounds winning successive BM 88 races during the peak of the Sydney Spring Carnival. She has been freshened and returned to work with an impressive trial win at Rosehill. She added a string to her bow by showing she could lead all the way defeating Maui Girl and Poetic Charmer.

When To Bet

It seems certain that Cummings will aim this mare for some black type over the Magic Millions carnival or maybe even a feature race of the Sydney summer carnival. She looks forward enough after only a short break should be a moral in a suitable race in Saturday grade when she returns.
